If you have orange or pinkish skin tones (especially peachy) then you should go for it. I'm a natural red head, so my skin tone is fairly peach colored. If you have a golden skin tone, it would be better to go more strawberry blonde than a darker red.
it really depends on your current hair color and skin tone, like one of my friends tried to go blond but she has an olive skin tone so it really didn't work out and she didn't listen to me and was upset afterwards sooooo the point of this story, look around at other people with naturally red hair or dyed red hair that works and see if you have similar skin tone cause it's a big factor, trust me
if you have dark hair color though, and you want to go red.. i suggest going with nutresse. they've got this awesome stuff that works on dark hair specifically, and it changed my dark asian hair to a fairly good red. :> however if you want mad intense red.. i don't know. i wanted that but yeah ): not work!! lolol. good luck!
Red is really hard to get out after - to bleach it out to my original blonde it took around 2 days of bleaching with a top professional stylist to get the insane amounts of red I'd plastered it with over three years. BUT DO IT. I just went straight back to red lmao. I love being bright gingery red, I'm always trying to have orange hair but I'm too dark at the moment :T
You should know that if you get tired of the haircolour it's hell to get that red colour out. I had to bleach mine to be able to dye it back to my natural colour(which is blonde). And also, the red colour is the one that fades the quickest, so you'll have to dye it rather often. ... but then again, it might be worth it ;D
i would say go for it if i didn't knew the consequences.... i wanted the same thing like you, and in a minute decision i dyed my hair red. after a week i wanted to get rid of it :\ i tried dark brown several times until the red was gone. and now, almost a year since it was red, i wanted to go blonde but i just couldn't get to the right color cause it keeps popping out ORANGE (and believe me, not a pretty sight :\) all because of this one time i wanted red for, like, a week.... so before you do that, take my words to your consideration... it may look good on you and you'll continue with that color for a long time, but it may not. and red (in all it's shades) is the hardest color to get out of your hair (and black). good luck with your decision!!!
it's not as simple as that. chances are you'll have to bleach your hair before you dye it red, or else the the red won't be even and you'll have parts that are brownish red... and after bleaching, even the darkest brown (don't dye it black!) will brighten up after a while and you'll have reddish highlights. but to tell you the truth, from your ID pic it looks like you have a bright complexion so red may look very good on you and you won't have to worry about any of this lol
If you want to do it, then go for it~! Of course you have to pick the right red, you may want to go for a darker shade of red. It'll be easier for your hair to take the color if it's not super light (since your hair is quite dark). You might need to bleach it first so it takes the pigment better and actually turns out red. I've been dying my hair red for a few years now. I've played a few different reds, and if you get the right sort of color you won't need to bleach it. A few times I had my hair two tones lighter than its original tone, so it may work that way for you as well.
You will find that your hair will be more accepting of the color after you first get it dyed, so it may take a little while to get it just right.
If you can, get it professionally done. They know what they're doing, and if they screw up usually they'll fix it for you. Of course, if you don't end up liking it, dye it back to its original color (or something close to the same shade so people don't notice it when it grows out).
I'm a red head and almost everyday I feel like everyone stares at me because of it, since my eyelashes are blonde, so are my eyebrows. I don't wear make-up. If you want to dye your hair an intense red its your choice to do it. I think you shouldn't because sometimes if you do it wrong. It might just back fire on you. (haha backfire, red hair is like fire I just thought of that as funny)
Nah. I think your hair is beautiful the way it is now. And i tell you, as soon as your hair is red/ginger, many people have to change their make-up style and cannot wear their favorite clothes because the colors realy don't match. Happend to me and many others i know.
I had ginger/ red hair on several occasions.. and it stayed like that for ages... even though it should have washed out after 6 to 8 weeks. I still had a sort of carrot colour 7 to 8 months later... So now I'm careful of the reds...
But then I guess it depends on your natural hair colour whether your hair is going to lap up the colour and keep it or if it'll wash out really fast.
Maybe-yes? However, I believe your hair is a dark color (dev ID)? So if you diye it orange, it might come out a different color. (like if I dye my hair blond, it will come out orange because my hair is dark). I think you need to bleach your hair first and then die it orange. But something to remember is that you would be putting a lot of chemicals in your hair if you did that. So I dunno, it's really up to you.
I don't know... I'm thinking about doing that myself, actually. But you know that you would have to dye your eyebrows as well, so they would match your hair. Otherwise it could look weird... But I think you would look good as a ginger. Although your hair looks so pretty now, that I don't know if I would have the courage to do it, if I were you! I'm not really helping, am I?
I adore being a ginger, but a lot of it has to do with your skin tone and natural color, or at least the color it is now. Red in any shade can be really hard to pull off, and it'll take a lot of maintenance to keep it the shade you want. You have to consider the effort as well as the appearance if you don't want it to look super fake.
I'm not saying no, but there are a bunch of things to think about before you color. I'd look for a semi-permanent dye just to see how it turns out
I mean if it doesn't work you can always dye it back. But I say do it. I have dyed my hair blue, pink, purple, copper, auburn, dark brown, and black. And I'm planning to dye a huge green streak underneath it on the right side. So go for it. Life is too short. You don't want to be 90 and in your death bed and regret that you didn't.
