I watched the Percy Jackson movie and didn't like it because it was so different from the books. And so is this.
I disliked the movies because they completely ignore important aspects of the books in favor of appealing to the mainstream audience. That annoys me. I also have a hard time with the movies making the group in teens in the first movie and ignoring the prophesy (I dunno, maybe it'll come up, but the kids will be too old by the time they get there to call them 16. But then again we have the wonderful tool of make up). I also feel that they are trying to make it as much like Harry Potter as they can.
HOWEVER. I am trying to accept the movie and books as two different canons, as they are so radically different. I never had this issue with Harry Potter as I watched movies 1-6 growing up until reading the books.
Regardless. I will watch Sea of Monsters, because quite honestly the effects look really fricking awesome and they did put a ton of effort into this. Not to mention there are some pretty hilarious moments and I just love Percy Jackson.
"The Chariot of Damanation." "It looks like a New York cab." "Same difference."
I'm not sure how i feel about this. The first percy jackson movie didn't really stay true to the book. It was a good movie, but as always the book was better. This one actually looks like it might actually follow the book though so here's hoping.
Nope. The first movie was such a failure that I refuse on principle to not see the next one. I can't even imagine how they could even do a second movie seeing as they never introduced Clarisse, Kronos, or Grover's quest for Pan. It's kind of crucial for the next movie.
