someone asked me to draw some How to train your dragon fanart,so,here it is. stupid title and I don't like Hiccup on this one.but I am glad that they are a bit similar to originals,I mean that I didn't want to draw them exactly in dreamworks style,but still.. and I am proud of the coloring. aaah doesn't metter I love Astrid
Excuse me while I take a moment to have a delicious eye aneurysm. I'm stoked that you have done this!
That being said the coloring is very wonderful, it's bright and still has a subtle little scheme going on. You put your own style into it which makes it refreshing and unique, they have a more defined profile than the Dreamworks's versions but they still are clearly those characters based on garment, hair, etc.
The only critique I would give is that Hiccup's hair is a bit too red, and he is missing his freckles - a lot of artists who do Hiccup forget to do his freckles. Astrid has a small bit of light freckles as well in the movie. I'm just OBSESSED with this movie so much I have memorized every little detail so I shouldn't expect others to know.
But that critique is pretty moot considering it's how YOU wanted to do it. It only applies if you had wanted to make the figures more reflective of the characters from the movie.
it. Great job and thank you for this. It will be a great addition to the HTTYD fandom!
Hiccup ain't exactly what he was in the movie, but he's much more handsome here, I must say xD And they look so cuuute together - you did a great job (;
